They may have been from Manchester rather than Liverpool but The Hollies were a major contributor to the essence of the Beat Era, with a string of memorable T op 10 hits from 1963 through into the 1970s, which included the No. 1 “I’m Alive”. This 20-track set was compiled by EMI in the ’70s as part of their TV-advertised series of “20 Golden Greats” collections and it remains a highly-collectable album. The big hits range from the early classics like “Stay”, Just One Look”, “I Can’t Let Go” and “Here I Go Again” to later ’60s and early ’70s biggies like “He Ain’t Heavy He’s My Brother”, “I Cant Tell The Bottom From The Top” and “The Air That I Breathe”.
